Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) participated as a sponsor in the 5th Regional Food and Travel Expo (REFTEX) 2025 held on October 25, 2025 in Legazpi City, Albay. Organized by Human Explore Travel and Tours, the event welcomed almost 3,000 students from hospitality management, tourism, and related courses across the Bicol Region.
Through MIHCA, REFTEX invited AIDA Cruises Training Manager Walter Kuhnert as one of the resource speakers. He delivered an insightful presentation on Innovations in Sustainability in the Cruise Industry, highlighting emerging trends, sustainable practices, and career opportunities for aspiring professionals in the cruise hospitality sector.
In addition to the expo, Mr. Kuhnert and the MIHCA team explored the scenic beauty of Legazpi and immersed themselves in the local culture through organized tours to popular tourist destinations.
