Smart launches Marino All Abroad SIM for Filipino seafarers around the world

Magsaysay Maritime officers and crew now ‘closer to home’ [01 SEPT 2016] Connecting Filipino workers abroad with loved ones back home with the use of communication solutions has always been a priority of leader in mobile, Smart Communications (Smart). Beefing up its long-standing partnership with one of the country's largest ship crew management companies, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (Magsaysay), Smart now provides a more affordable and dependable means for Magsaysay seafarers to keep in touch with their families especially when they dock in various ports worldwide.
The Smart All Abroad SIM is a new prepaid roaming SIM for seafarers which uses a downloadable dialer that allows you to call, text, and send emails to the Philippines and other countries at affordable rates. Below are the steps to follow in using the services:
- Download the All Abroad app from the Apple App Store or Google’s Play Store.
- Fill out the registration form simply by entering your complete name and the confirmation number that will be sent via SMS.
- In the network settings on your phone, data roaming and mobile data must be turned on to enable the services
The All Abroad SIM is automatically set to ‘roam’ without extra cost to the user. Procedures described above must simply be followed to use the service. With the All Abroad SIM, sending a regular SMS or an email with a 100,000 character limit starts at PhP2 only, while calls starts at just PhP8 per minute. Users may also subscribe to Smart’s 300-peso call or text buckets, which provide SMS at only PhP1 per message and PhP3 per minute of calls for Smart, TnT and Sun.
Users can also load their All Abroad SIM through Smart’s regular e-load. Once the All Abroad SIM is loaded they simply need to “convert” the regular load to All Abroad load by following the simple steps below:
- Using your phone’s dialer, Dial *133#
- Select Load Conversion
- Select Amount
- Confirm
