Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), through MOL Maritex Co., Ltd. (MOLMAT), in partnership with the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) and Magsaysay Training Center (MTC), recently conducted the pilot run of the Dynamic Positioning (DP) Induction Program in Mariveles, Bataan.
Held from September 15 to 19, the five-day program introduced trainees to the principles of dynamic positioning through a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on exercises on a simulated DP system. The course provided participants with their first practical experience in DP operations.
The pilot run comes after the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement earlier this year, which established a dedicated DP Training Center in the Philippines.
The DP Induction Program reflects the commitment of MOLMAT, MAAP, and MTC to providing high-quality and accessible training for Filipino seafarers. This first run represents an important step in preparing trainees for future roles in DP operations and offshore work.
