DFA prepares for evacuation of OFWs and Filipino Peacemakers in Ebola-hit countries

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has announced its preparation for the repatriation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone which probably coincide with the withdrawal of more than 300 Filipino peacemakers in Liberia.

Returning OFWs and peacemakers are scheduled to come home in October and will undergo medical check-up and then placed in quarantine once they arrive once at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), according to DFA Spokesman Charles Jose.

To date, no Filipino has been reported positive with the Ebola virus and the health department has also declared Philippines as Ebola-free.
