MIHCA bags gold award in Philippine Culinary Cup 2014

Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) students bagged gold award in the Filipino Cuisine Challenge at the 5th Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC) held at SMX Convention last August 6-9. The students competed against culinary professionals and instructors from various local and international hotels.

 

MIHCA student chefs Nadine Kristine D. Villafane, Randy C. Ramirez and Camille Rael C. Bitara prepared their winning menu which includes tinola rice croquette, shrimp cake (okoy) with sinamak vinaigrette, cebu lechon with liver sauce and coconut pumpkin and string bean puree, hearts of palm and green papaya salad with Palawan honey dressing. MIHCA instructors were also awarded silver medal for the Dream Team Professional category and a bronze medal for Dress the Cake category.

 

The PCC is the only World Association Chef’s Society (WACS) endorsed continental competition in the Philippines.
