Philippine Weather Update

Typhoon Glenda (international name “ Rammasun”) is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a weather bulletin update at 8 a.m. 17 July 2014 (Philippine standard time).

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON and The Provinces of Mindoro, Palawan, La Union, Benguet and Pangasinan will have occasional rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest will prevail over the rest of the country with moderate to rough seas.

Meanwhile, PAGASA announced that another weather disturbance is expected to take its place although it won’t directly affect the country. The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 970 km East of Northern Mindanao (10.2°N, 135.8°E). Once it intensifies into a tropical cyclone, it would be named “Henry.”
