Magsaysay Opens New Offices in Jakarta, Indonesia



Magsaysay opened new offices in Jakarta, Indonesia last February 16, Saturday. The launch, which was highlighted with a traditional Indonesian ceremony, of PT MIHCA International Indonesia and PT Alpha Magsaysay International (PT AMI) further strengthens Magsaysay’s human capital development presence in Southeast Asia. The expansion is in line with Magsaysay’s commitment to provide employment opportunities to young talents in the region as part of its philosophy to build a human resource pipeline, train people to be job ready, and be accessible to seafarers and their families.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was graced by the Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Lee Hiong Tan Wee and his wife, Rosalinda Wee, together with the Magsaysay Group’s President and CEO Doris Magsaysay Ho, PT MIHCA Commissioner Stephen Layarda, Magsaysay People Resources Corporation (MPRC) President Marlon Roño, MIHCA President Paolo Guevara, and other members of the Magsaysay management team. 

In his message, Ambassador Lee Hiong Tan Wee said that digitalization in the future will not affect the hospitality industry because the industry will always be connected to human touch. The new office highlights PT MIHCA’s latest and state-of-the-art equipment. PT MIHCA is committed to make sure that all Indonesian trainees will receive not only the finest culinary and hospitality training but as well as support in terms of career placement assistance. 

Dignitaries from Indonesia were also present at the ceremony, including Nadiem Makarim, CEO of Go-Jek and Prashant Kanshara, VFA Country Head.
