Asahi Tanker Holds Crew Safety Seminar 2018



Asahi Tanker Co., Ltd., in cooperation with Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), held this year’s 2nd Crew Safety Seminar last August 30-31 at Robert Hall, Times Plaza Building in Manila. The 2-day seminar gathered fifty-three (53) officers and crew to discuss safe ship operations, technical updates, medical care onboard and cyber security, among others. The event also included a team building activity and presentation of awards. 

Twelve (12) officers and crew members were honored for their loyalty and exemplary performance during a special awards presentation held on August 30. Asahi Tanker also recognized the twenty-one (21) officers and crew members of M/T Sunny Orion for their courageous act and good seamanship in extinguishing the fire and saving the vessel. 

The certificates of appreciation were presented by Asahi Tanker’s Hideo Takenaka, Designated Person/General Manager; Capt. Jongseon Kim, Quality Management Officer; Capt. Takashi Doi, Marine Team Leader; Takaaki Sowa, Seafarers’ Team Leader; and MMC’s Capt. Joselito Navales, Cluster HR Director; and Chief Engineer Angelito Mamawag, Fleet HR Director.
