Asahi Holds Crew Safety Seminar 2017

Officers and crew members with Asahi and MMC executives

Asahi Tanker Co., Ltd., in cooperation with Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), held this year’s 2nd Crew Safety Seminar last July 19-21 at Robert Hall, Times Plaza Building in Manila.

Attended by 46 officers and crew members, the 3-day forum focused on “One Goal, Zero Incident for Asahi Team”. The speakers were Asahi Tanker’s Captain Jongseon Kim, SMS Auditor-Safety & Quality Management Office; Captain Jumpei Kato, Marine Superintendent; Captain Elvin Abella, and Captain Rhovell Loya; Yanmar Co., Ltd.’s Hideaki Tsuhako, Project Manager; Hiroshi Watanabe, Senior Technical Adviser; and Perlito Porcare, Trainer; ClassNK Manila Office’s Takeshi Imamura, General Manager and Rizalito Perez, Manager; and CarePoint Medical Diagnostic and Wellness Clinic’s Dr. Leojane Marzan. During the forum, 10 officers and crew members were honored for their exemplary performance and dedicated and loyal service to Asahi Tanker and MMC. The plaques of appreciation were presented by Hideo Takenaka, General Manager-Ship Management Division of Asahi Tanker; Marlon Roño, Executive Chairman of MMC; ​and Arnold Javier, President of MMC.

The participants were also joined by Takaaki Sowa, Business Team Leader-Ship Management Division of Asahi Tanker; Alexander E. Querol, President of Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc.; Captain Joselito Navales, Cluster HR Director of MMC; and Chief Engineer Angelito Mamawag; Fleet HR Director of MMC.
