Magsaysay and ICS Hold Pilot Class of “A Practical Approach for Commercial Shipping”

MLRI and ICS team with the pilot class of “A Practical Approach for Commercial Shipping”

Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc. (MLRI), in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS), delivered the course “A Practical Approach for Commercial Shipping" to its pilot class last April 27-28, 2017 at Robert Hall, Times Plaza Building, Manila, Philippines.

Facilitated by well-known ICS’ Lead Lecturer and Maritime Learning and Development Consultant, Leif Ollivierre, the course provided the participants with practical knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of the commercial shipping industry. Ollivierre covered topics on commercial shipping markets, bulk and liner shipping, commercial and technical ship management, regulation and documentation, and shipping law.

This comprehensive approach to learning benefitted professionals who are considering a career in the maritime industry as well as shipboard officers who are aspiring to grow in the business of trade and shipping. Attendees include ship owners, crew managers, ship agents, and senior executives of shipping companies. A series of training has been scheduled within the year to accommodate more maritime officers and professionals who are interested to have in-depth understanding and expertise of the commercial shipping business.

MLRI and ICS partnered to strengthen the network of shipping professionals by promoting competence in and understanding of the global shipping business.
