To meet the increasing career opportunities for Filipinos in Japan, the Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) launched its Japanese Language Training and Housekeeping Laboratory Facilities and announced its partnership with Japan’s Human Academy last November 28, 2016 at Times Plaza Building, Ermita, Manila.

Paolo A. Guevara, President of MIHCA, opened the ceremony, and was followed by messages from Rebecca J. Calzado, Deputy Director General for Partnership and Linkages of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA); Rosanna Urdaneta, Deputy Director General of TESDA; Kentaro Ozawa, Director / Executive Officer of International Business Division of Human Holdings, Inc.; and Honorable Liberty T. Casco, Deputy Administrator of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.

The facilities are envisioned to prepare students of the culture, language, work ethic, and systems in Japan and equip them with progressive, experience-based skills that meet the Japanese standards. Human Academy, on the other hand, will ensure the development and delivery of the Japanese language training program.

Successful housekeeping trainees will become part of Magsaysay Global Services, Inc.’s (Magsaysay Global) talent pool of diverse, well-trained, and competent industry professionals and will be deployed for the Project to Accept Foreigners Conducting Housekeeping Services in National Strategic Special Zones.

The ceremony was attended by Magsaysay’s Eduardo U. Manese, Doris Magsaysay Ho, Marlon R. Roño, Jay A. Fernando, Alexander E. Querol; TESDA’s Antoinette Cardasto; Former Japan Ambassador to the Philippines, Toshinao Urabe; First Secretary and Labour Attaché of the Embassy of Japan to the Philippines, Hiroyuki Enoki; and MOL Philippines’ Chief Country Representative, Teiichiro Shinoda.
