The Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS) welcomed the 6th batch of cadets under the Academe Industry Linkage Program (AILP) last June 3, 2016 at the MIS Campus in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

91 cadets from the different partner schools across the country were accepted into the program for the school year 2016-2017. The ceremony was attended by Alexander E. Querol, President of Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc. (MLRI); Masanori Kato, Executive Officer of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL); and Shinsuke Ogura, Director of Magsaysay MOL Marine, Inc. (MMM).

The new batch of cadets will be continuing the third year of their technical training at MIS until they complete their degrees in BS Marine Transportation or BS Marine Engineering. The AILP program, which was granted by the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines (CHED) in 2011, was established as a response to the stringent demands of the maritime industry for highly trained and globally competitive seafarers.
