AIDA Cruises Holds First Junior Commis de Cuisine Assessment at MIHCA

AIDA Cruises, the leading German cruise line,
conducted its first Junior Commis de Cuisine Assessment at the Magsaysay Center
for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA), the hospitality and culinary arts
training arm of the Magsaysay Group of Companies.
Held
last January 29, 2016, the one-day assessment was spearheaded by Imke
Mecke, Senior Manager Recruitment of AIDA Cruises, with the assistance of Chef
Mandy Salvo, Culinary Instructor of MIHCA. The assessment started with a
presentation on AIDA Cruises and the work and life onboard. Afterwards, the 21
invited MIHCA graduates underwent a Trade Test where they were evaluated of
their basic culinary skills. Finally, the passing candidates were invited
to undergo the one-on-one interview with the principal. 16 candidates will be
participating in the AIDA Junior Commis de Cuisine Culinary Training in May to further prepare them for
their employment on board AIDA vessels.
