MARINA Welcomes New JICA expert

Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Administrator Dr. Maximo Q. Mejia Jr. welcomed Mr. Tomoyuki Fukuhara as MARINA’s new Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) expert replacing Mr. Kazuo Kotani who has been given a new position in Japan. Fukuhara comes back to MARINA as JICA Expert for the second time. He was first assigned for the post in 2000. Prior to his reassignment, Fukuhara was Director for International Shipping Coordination, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in Japan.

During the turn-over ceremony, Administrator Mejia recognized and appreciated Mr. Kotani’s outstanding work and that JICA is a partner in the maritime industry modernization process and the MARINA had benefited from its technical expertise in various areas of maritime safety.
