MARINA Celebrates 41st Founding Anniversary

Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) celebrated its 41st founding anniversary last June 1, 2015 held at its central office in Parkview Plaza grounds, Manila.

 

In his anniversary message read for him by his Chief of Staff Atty. Jabeth Sena Jepath Dacanay, MARINA Administrator Dr. Maximo Q. Mejia, Jr. thanked officers and rank and file of the agency for the daily contribution in building a strong foundation which MARINA has achieved and become over the past 41 years. Dr. Mejia also extended his gratitude to DOTC, PCG, PPA, OTS, other maritime industry stakeholders, including maritime labor unions, schools, associations of shipping firms, manning agencies, the Maritime Press Club of the Philippines (MPCP), shipyards and LGUs for invaluable support and cooperation to MARINA in its promotion of the country’s maritime industry.

 

MARINA Deputy Administrator for Planning, Atty. Nicasio A. Conti also extended his greetings for the agency’s celebration. He listed relevant maritime laws that make the Philippines as a working maritime economy as well as PDs and EOs that made MARINA firmer as an attached agency of Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).
